We could think of these life hiccups as contrast. Contrast, defined as experiencing an event that is quite different from events we’re used to. And that is life. Contrast needs to occur in the world. You wouldn’t be alive if you did not live with contrast. I want to tell you how you can keep centered, powerful, and peaceful in the midst of contrast, including the most seemingly devastating of contrasting life experiences.
If life tosses you a curveball, if you can halt, remove all the drama and strip it down to simply the facts, you’ll notice that what is being given is simply information. “My car has a dent in it.” “My child got a D- on his term paper.” “My brother has cancer.” It’s the tale we attach to the information that takes us down. Any life event we’re going through that we dislike, we can call contrast. Contrast, when seen as information, will be used very well. Contrast just shows us what is NOT wanted. Once we realize that which is not wanted, we now have attained an extremely precise frame of reference for what IS desired. The not-so-hot grade on your child’s term paper might produce your desires for his success and clarity. Your mother having a disease might stimulate your desires to send love, compassion, and healing intentions their direction.
Contrast is able to create amazing opportunities for knowledge, clarity, and creative energy. Contrast has provided clarity and has produced a fresh desire so you can put your attention on what is desired.
Contrast, when viewed as information (stripping the drama), creates elements that create a greater range of dynamic expression. No artist, inventor, or creator would ever desire to live in a universe without contrast. Become friends with your life contrast, use it to create clarity and turn into the creator of your experience.
