Dreams are usually the simple expressions of thoughts, feelings, and awareness of the mind that are at play while the conscious mind is at rest. You can always identify a meaningless dream by its characteristics.

When you wake up in the morning, or whenever it is you wake up, and you don’t even remember you had a dream until something or someone reminds you of it later in the day or week, that dream is most likely a meaningless one. He finds himself in a fearful world of complete bewilderment. But he tries to start making sense of it. He wastes a lot of time initially because he just does not know how to proceed. But then he stumbles upon a very simple idea - he would make very careful observations and form theories based on the observations, without allowing any arbitrary and unverifiable presuppositions to influence his theories. Sticking to this systematic approach, over time he finds that things are not quite as crazy as they appeared. He finds that the various pieces move according to consistent rules. He formulates a grand theory - “the rules of the game”.

Say for instance, after a long drought of dateless nights someone finally sets you up on a blind date. The day of the date arrives and you’re pleasantly blown away by the looks of the person you meet. The attraction is there, but is it mutual?

Now, the date ends with you very excited, hoping for the best. You rush to sit by the phone day and night because he said he’ll call you. However, you soon find to your dismay that time is no respecter of you as the hours, days, and weeks passes on by without producing the promised phone call.

3. Is the central plot of the dream related in one way or the other to something you recently saw on Television? Has it been a worry of yours anytime in the past couple of days prior to the dream? If so, the viability of the dream being prophetic is disqualified.

4. Do you think the dream could be related to something you recently experienced one way or the other, through conversations, movies, physical/verbal altercations…etc? If so, this dream most likely isn’t prophetic.

You believe him and waste no time forgiving. The dream ends with a huge smile plastered across your face as the both of you engage in your wildest sexual fantasies. You awake to the harsh reality of life moments later and are sadly astounded to find, it was only a dream!

Is this dream Prophetic?

NO. Absolutely NOT!!

Why isn’t it Prophetic?

The mere fact that you thought of it obsessively, or that it was a reoccurring thought in your state of mind made it susceptible to an unconscious recruitment into the dream world. In other words, the strength and frequency of your fantasies disqualifies this type of dream from having any prophetic relevance, therefore, it cannot and should never be taken seriously at all
