Everything that you “know” about living your life your way is probably wrong, and that’s okay. You can only live by the way you were conditioned to live from your early childhood, your experiences and your early conditioning. You probably went to school just like every other person on the planet and learned the basic ABC’s and 123’s, a little bit about history, a little bit about art, and a little bit about a couple of other things you probably can’t even remember.

You ,I’m sure, learned  how to please all around you. But did you learn how to please yourself. You were taught how to stay out of trouble, and do what is expected of you by those in authority. But did were you taught the principles of persuasion, influence and leadership.

You might have learned a little bit about the human body, but what you learned probably didn’t help you to gain a healthy body. You probably studied about the great people of history, but you probably never learned how to live by the principles which made them great.

You probably learnt how to deal with money, account for it and spend it wisely, but did you learn about the principles about building wealth?

It is quite possible that what you learnt in school did not empower you with the tools to understand how the world really works.

If you look at the statistics you would observe that less than twenty percent of the world’s population controls over eighty percent of the world’s wealth.

Quite a great number of people who live in the most civilized areas in the world today, are either overweight or obese.

In one of the wealthiest places in the world, North America, most of the people are living paycheck to paycheck. Not only that , but most of them are mired in debt, that they seem hardly able to get out of.

Your life is about you, so take a good look at the circumstances in your life.

Are you satisfied with your level of self confidence and inner peace?

Do you make enough money to have a reasonable amount of financial security and to buy the things you want?

Are you satisfied with the condition of your physical health?

And most importantly:

What legacy are you leaving behind in the hearts and minds of the people you came most into contact with, and those who you love the most .

If the answers to the questions above did not please you , or created an pleasant feeling in your heart, a feeling of dissatisfaction, shame or guilt, then certainly the rules or values that you have learnt to live your life by, are not giving you the results that you would like to achieve in life.

As depressing as this might seem, it’s actually a very good place to start when it comes to fulfilling your dreams and becoming your best self.

Why is this?

It is because a sense of dissatisfaction presents the motivation to get you to change your approach to life, and hence gets you to achieve the results that you really want. However, the starting point is for you to accept that the way the world works is different to what you were taught and therefore what you now  believe. You would have more self fulfillment in life, than what you have at present if this were not true.

So now that we have that out of the way, let’s look at a few of the popular myths which keep people from getting what they really want:

Successful People are Lucky

There  seems to be no doubt that luck seems to play a role in our lives, but billions of us seem to tolerate povety, bad relationships and bad health, because we Fell it is oour bad luck.

In his best-selling book “Think and Grow Rich,” author Napoleon Hill wrote about a series of experiments which was done to determine how “lucky” people got that way.

The results proved that successful people were not lucky, but seemed to focus more on the good things that happened to them and seemed to keep their attention focused on what it is they wanted in life.

Whereas the Unsucessful or “bad lucky” people remembered the bad things that happened to them and focused more on the things that they did not want to happen.

As you’re about to learn, this alone is the most important difference between people who get what they want and people who don’t get what they want.

Your Problems Are Other People’s Fault

People who are not satisfied with their lives would be quick to reveal who or what is responsible for thei failures. In other words, most people see themselves as victims of either circumstances or the choices of others, and thus neglect their own power to assert control over their own life.

Chance does play a role in our lives, and we are sometimes directly or indirectly affected by the decisions and choices of others, but successful people reiterate that no matter what their circumstances in life, they are able to overcome them, because they are always in control of who they want to become, and what they want to do in life.

To become Rich You Have to be Greedy

This myth is probably responsible for the great amount of povety and misfortune that abound in the world today. Believing that rich people are greedy makes it almost certain that you will never become rich yourself. After all, who wants to be seen as a greedy person?

Belief in this myth of course, would prevent you from seeking advice from other rich people, and of course you would seek advice from poor people ,who, like yourself would also not realize that this myth is false.

The power to live your life is in your own hands, by the way you think and remember details of your life, and by the things that you focus on. You can change your life , by building new mind pictures and holding new visions in your mind. This new way of looking at life would attract new experiences to you and new opportunities, that you ought to recognize and grasp and exploit. However, this change is not always easy to manipulate, and there are tools out there to help you change your perspective in life.
